How to Design a B2B Dashboard People Want to Use

Dashboards are decision tools
A dashboard should not display everything; it should display the few things that change a decision. Good design reduces scanning and accelerates action.
Use visual hierarchy aggressively
Primary metrics need stronger contrast, meaningful grouping, and obvious states. Secondary details belong in drill-downs, not in the first view.
Make the next step obvious
Every dashboard should answer “What now?” If users cannot act from the interface, it is a report, not a product.
